Mariners once again fail to sign a big name free agent. Hamilton to Angels.

The news breaking around 11:30am today that Josh Hamilton had agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Angels once again marked a failure on the Mariners part to sign a big name free agent. Last year it was Prince Fielder, and this year it is Josh Hamilton. Granted last year the Mariners weren't really in the conversation for Fielder, but this year it seriously looked like the M's would reel in Hamilton, they just didn't get it done.

I don't know what the deciding factor was that made the Mariners shy away from Hamilton. Was it that he was asking for too much money? Was it that he wanted 5 years and the Mariners only wanted him for 3? And you're telling me taking a chance on Jason Bay is a good idea?! Oh, well its all in the past now…we may never know why the Mariners couldn't sign Josh Hamilton. All we know is that 19 times next year we will get to see first hand what could have been when we see Josh blast one of his towering home runs, or rob an extra-base hit against us playing for the Angels.

Maybe one day the Mariner's management will do something that we as M's fans can all feel good about, one day.

Mariners make a big push to sign Josh Hamilton!

It is said that the Texas Rangers are after both Zack Greinke and Josh Hamilton but they are leaning towards Zack Greinke. This is why the M's are pushing hard for Hamilton.
