The Huskies Abdul Gady lays it up against WSU |
Although their win on Saturday against the Cougars wasn't pretty, Washington managed to get it done when it counted. It was a pretty bad game altogether, the Huskies were in foul trouble all game due to some questionable foul calls by be officials. The thing that won the game for the Huskies was their free-throw shooting. The Dawgs were 15-19 from the line in the second half, while WSU was just 6-20. Freshman guard Tony Wroten again lead the Huskies in scoring with 21 points, while CJ Wilcox scored 16 off the bench. At the time the Huskies win on Saturday just moved them back into a tie with California for first place in the Pac 12, but when Cal lost on Sunday at Colorado the Huskies regained the top spot once again. With two games left on the schedule at UCLA and at USC, it is looking like the Huskies need to win both in order to secure an at large bid in the NCAA Tournament. USC shouldn't be difficult, but Josh Smith and UCLA will more than likely put up a pretty good fight.
The Huskies play next on Thursday, March 1st at 11:30ET @ USC
